Hello!
The past two weeks felt like they have just flown by, but at the same time there is still 10 more weeks left and they seem to stretch forever! I admit I have become a bit homesick, but God's sovereignty is pulling me through!
I am working now at a company that counts inventory for large retail and grocery stores. It doesn't sound too exciting, but it actually is a fun job with really great people. The lord really opened doors in regards to sharing also! Two other students from the Project are also working in the same company, and we are encouraged with the support we have for each other. Also we were able to have very good spiritual conversations with particular people with whom we work alongside with. In fact, I remember immediately after the first day of training my friend and I were having our lunch in a foodcourt when a new co-worker happens to sit alongside us, and soon after we are sharing with him a gospel presentation!
The outreach I am part of is focusing on the downtown core of Calgary, and will be attracting people to stationary tables and booths with bottles of water that are specially labled and hopefully introduced to gospel presentations. We have heard some amazing testimonies so far, and I'm sure there's a lot more coming! There was a young man from Mexico who had come to the city to learn more about a friend's death, looking for closure, and the Holy Spirit timed it just so that he can have the opportunity to dig deeper into his own life. To me I see it that there are opportunities presented wherever we are, it is a matter of trusting in God and having the courage to do something. It is through His grace alone that we are saved to begin with: "I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!" Gal.2:21. That was a verse I read through my study and it really encourages me as even I find myself being a little legalistic at times.
Thanks for the thoughts and prayers! I am believing that we will see something HUGE happen at my workplace, and I can't wait!! Discipleship groups have started and those are very important too, very good. All the best,
Peter
